Sober Coach
New sobriety is fragile. Sober coaching protects your significant investment in treatment by helping the client make the leap from treatment to daily life. By providing guidance, encouragement and feedback, a sober coach facilitates a successful transition from treatment to sober living. A sober coach can provide assessment, help to implement a treatment plan and find meetings, sponsorship and other support. He helps to identify and overcome potential obstacles to continued recovery, such as high-risk situations and personality and lifestyle patterns that can lead to relapse. Coaching is also helpful
for those who have had relapse episodes. However, anyone in recovery
will find coaching useful to improve their skills at recognizing and managing
situations that put their recovery at risk.
Brian O'Shea coaches in person and from a distance. His qualifications include 26 years of sobriety and certification in Gorski-CENAPS® Relapse Prevention, the most widely recognized method for helping relapse-prone, chemically-dependent patients.
Sober Companion
Addiction treatment takes place in a highly structured environment. A sober companion helps the newly sober client to adjust to post-treatment life in recovery. As a sober companion, Brian O'Shea stays with the client 24 hours a day. He
provides coaching on the development and practice of a sober lifestyle
and helps to detect and overcome potential obstacles to continued
recovery. He can help to put a treatment plan into practice, identify a sponsor and find meetings and other support. He reinforces new sobriety by example as well as encouragement, guidance and feedback.
Sober Escort
There are many occasions in which an individual - newly clean and sober - can use the company and support of a sober friend. These include business trips, conventions and important social events such as weddings. A sober escort can help someone who is newly sober to manage stressful and high-risk situations without relapse. Sometimes situations arise that require a patient to leave treatment for one to seven days. A Sober Escort transports the patient from the treatment center to the event(s) requiring his or her presence. The Sober Escort stays with the patient and returns him or her, safe and sober, to treatment. Our interventionists are available to transport and to provide sober escort.
Addiction-Free Pain Management®
More Americans than ever are living with chronic pain, which has led to a devastating increase in prescription drug addiction. Mistreatment of a pain condition can lead not only to addiction but can also lead to relapse and even death for those with an addiction disorder. By adapting the Gorski-CENAPS® developmental model of recovery to the specific needs of chronic pain sufferers, Dr. Stephen F. Grinstead created the Addiction-Free Pain Management® system (APM™). Supervised by Dr. Grinstead, Brian O'Shea coaches clients to take advantage of APM's powerful treatment interventions for people with chronic pain and potential or actual addiction disorders.
